ICTSI Manila boosts operations with next-generation cranes

With the recent arrival of three new quay cranes at its flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has significantly bolstered its capacity to accommodate foreign ultra-container vessels.

Manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. (ZPMC), the new machines are two post-Panamax cranes with a reach of 18 rows across for Berths 3 and 4, and one neo-Panamax crane with a reach of 20 rows across designated for Berth 7.

This expansion increases MICT's quay crane fleet to 18 units, making it the largest in the Philippines. Once commissioned, these new cranes will enhance operational efficiency and contribute to even faster turnaround times at the country's premier international trade hub.
