CMA CGM announces peak season surcharges from Asia to Africa

CMA CGM has notified its customers about the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS02) effective from 16 April 2024 (loading date) until further notice.

 

This surcharge applies to shipments from China to various destinations including Angola, Congo, DRC, Namibia, Gabon, Cameroon, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Ghana, Togo, and Equatorial Guinea.

 

The surcharge rate for dry cargo on these routes is set at US$200 per TEU.

 

Additionally, the French carrier has introduced another Peak Season Surcharge for shipments from North & Central China to Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, and Sao Tome & Principe. For this route, the surcharge amount for dry cargo is US$150 per TEU.

 

Also, effective from 20 April 2024 (loading date) until further notice, CMA CGM has announced the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge for shipments originating from South China, North East Asia, and South East Asia, and destined for Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, and Sao Tome & Principe. The surcharge applies to dry cargo and is set at US$500 per TEU.

 

Moreover, for shipments originating from North China and destined to Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, and Sao Tome & Principe, the Peak Season Surcharge is US$150 per TEU for dry cargo.

 

Commencing from 22 April 2024 (loading date) until further notice, CMA CGM has introduced a Peak Season Surcharge for shipments originating from China and destined for Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Ghana, Togo, and Equatorial Guinea. The surcharge applies to dry cargo and is set at US$450 per TEU.

 

Moreover, for shipments originating from South Korea and destined for Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Ghana, Togo, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Congo, DRC, Namibia, Gabon, and Cameroon, a Peak Season Surcharge of US$100 per TEU for dry cargo has been implemented.

 

Furthermore, starting 23 April 2024 (loading date) until further notice, CMA CGM has initiated a Peak Season Surcharge for shipments originating from North & Central China and bound for Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, and Sao Tome & Principe. This surcharge, applicable to dry cargo, amounts to US$500 per TEU.
