New 24,000 TEU vessel joins OOCL’s fleet

 

 

Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has received a new mega-vessel, officially named "OOCL Türkiye" at a ceremony held at Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co. (NACKS) shipyard.

 

In particular, this new vessel becomes the third 24,188 TEU vessel to be received by the COSCO-owned box line in a series of twelve ships. The vessel was named by Jane LIU, chairwoman at SaiLun Group Co., a global tire manufacturer.

 

OOCL Türkiye will join OOCL Spain and OOCL Piraeus in serving the company's Asia-Europe LL3 service loop.

 

CHEN Shuai, director of Network Planning Center and Procurement Management Center at OOCL, confirmed, "Upon its delivery, this new vessel will be serving OOCLs Asia-Europe route and enhance our market competitiveness."

 

He added, "This vessel has adopted the latest green design and is equipped with advanced smart systems which can optimize its operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, meeting the requirements of customers and society for energy saving and carbon reduction nowadays."
