CMA announced a strategic partnership with La Poste Group

CMA CGM announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with French postal Group La Poste Group to strengthen their cooperation in parcel delivery, transportation and warehousing in their respective areas of expertise. The partnership, based on the respective capabilities of GeoPost, a subsidiary of the French Postal Group, and CMA subsidiary CEVA Logistics, covers the entire parcel logistics chain, CMA said.

 

Maersk plans to invest in infrastructure in South and Southeast Asia

{C}A. {C}P. Moller Capital, the asset management arm of Danish transport and logistics giant Maersk, said it would invest more than US $750 million in infrastructure platforms in South and Southeast Asia, Reuters reported. Maersk has opened an office in Singapore and plans to expand investments in high-growth markets, the company said in a statement.

 

UK inflation rose 10.1 per cent year-on-year in January

The UK's consumer price index (CPI) rose 10.1% in January from a year earlier, down from 10.5% in December and the third consecutive month of contraction, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said. Slower increases in transportation, restaurants and hotels were the main reasons for the month's drop in inflation, the data showed.

 

USA imposed sanctions on entities linked to Iranian petrochemical products

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury announced sanctions against nine entities. The United States believes that relevant entities, including six Iranian petrochemical manufacturers and their subsidiaries as well as three companies in Malaysia and Singapore, play a role in the production, sale and transportation of Iranian petrochemical products and oil.
