Golden Ocean orders three dual-fuel kamsarmax bulk vessels in China

 

Golden Ocean Group, backed by John fredriksen, has placed orders for three dual-fuel kamsarmax bulk vessels and has offloaded two 2015-built megaships.

The Nasdaq- and Oslo-listed barge company is currently building seven vessels at China's Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (DSIC). The three 85,000-dwt eco-vessels will be built at the same shipyard and delivered in the third quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, the company said. No price has been disclosed yet.

 

Meanwhile, seven-year-olds Golden Cecilie and Golden catherine sold for $63 million to an undisclosed buyer. Golden Ocean said it expects to record earnings of $22 million and net cash receipts of about $41 million, which will be used to pay for the expected equity portion of the kamsarmax trio.
